Why Angela

My name is Angela Gavigan, I’m owner of Touraloora, a small group tour company based in Roscommon, Ireland. 

My mission is to guide my guests on an authentic and unforgettable experience of Ireland – its culture, music, history, landscape and people.
I want them to feel a special connection to this place.

Music, History, and Heartfelt Tours

My real passions are Irish history, culture, music and song.  I write and sing my own songs and poetry and have released an EP of 3 of my own songs, produced by and accompanied by John Spillane, one of Ireland’s favourite folk singers.

I like to intertwine my love of Irish music and poetry into my tours and want my guests to see Ireland through my eyes – as someone who is connected to and loves Ireland’s history, landscape, music and traditions.  I share my insights into Irish life, my reflections and sometimes my own original songs.

I’m a thorough planner who takes your hopes and dreams for your Irish escape and makes them a reality, but I’m also flexible enough to adapt the experience around your interests and energy levels on any given day.  I like to add spontaneous scenic stops and stories that will bring you closer to Ireland, and my guests enjoy tours that feel effortless, relaxed and deeply personal to them.

I don’t run scripted tours – I listen carefully to my guests and I tailor each experience to the people I am with.  So if you’d like to add in a visit to a sheep farm, or a flight over Cobh, your trip will be custom designed.
